Sixty-eight (68) scholars from Anihan Technical School trooped to nearby Carmel Ridge Clubhouse for this year’s Anihan Sportsfest. Dubbed as, “Rise as One: Compete with Heart, Create with Passion,” the entire student body, with the Management, faculty, school & livelihood center staff convened at the covered court of the clubhouse for a whole day of sporting events which included a Cheerdance Competition, Team Chants, Badminton and the much-awaited Volleyball Competition.

Ms. Aileen Clutario, Anihan Officer-in-Charge, opened the event with her Welcome Remarks while the Anihan Faculty members led our warm-up exercises. Ms. Nicole Anne Estrada and Ms. Sharina Mae Espino of the Student Affairs Department were the emcees of the program. Mrs. Guada Gabriel, Anihan Patrons President, also lent support with her presence.

The competing teams this year were: Anise-Ashen 99, Ginger- Maroon Aces, Peppermint-Yerba Buena, and the Anihan Faculty and Staff-Coffee Beige Team.

We are grateful to our Supporter and Guest Judge, a former high school cheerdancer and volleyball player at Santa Isabel College Manila, for gracing the event. The other judges were Ms. Monica Felizarta and Ms. Alaiza dela Torre of the Anihan Livelihood Center who are both sports and cheerdancing enthusiasts. We also wish to thank all the sponsors of the Sportsfest starting with our Brgy. Capt. Hon. Randy Sulit and wife, Ms. Cecille Sulit, the Philippine Food Bank, Inc., Mr. Simon Lopez, Ms. Guada Gabriel, Ms. Me-Anne Panganiban, Ms. Josie Herradura, Mr. and Mrs. Deniega, Mr. and Mrs. Bautista, Mr. and Mrs. Pastrana, Mr. and Mrs. Solestre, Ms. Joy Broqueza, Ms. Jessel de los Reyes, Ms. Zarah Densing, Ms. Cindy Saberola, Ms. Kristine Austria, and Ms. Marites Tobes.
