Are you a Southeast Asian cuisine indulger? If yes, then you have probably heard of Nanyang, which is a contemporary-styled cafe serving Singaporean cuisines and delights such as Kaya Toast (traditional toast) and Kopi (coffee). The name Nanyang literally means “Southern Ocean” or what we all know as “Southeast Asia,” a name perfect for a coffee shop that offers not only particular dishes from Singapore, but there are also a few ones that are well-known in other parts of Southeast Asia too!

Nanyang Philippines has always talked about expanding to other parts of Metro Manila while slowly making its way to the South and has started to set up a number of shops. Now, they stay true to their goal as The Shops at Ayala Triangle Gardens now houses Nanyang for kopi lovers who frequent Makati.

Nanyang Ayala Triangle Gardens

Craving for a fresh brew of kopi and authentic Singaporean cuisine? Here are 5 reasons why you would love to dine in Nanyang at The Shops, Ayala Triangle Gardens.

How do you like your kopi?

Of course, we have our own kind of kopi that we enjoy drinking. Do you want your kopi with condensed milk and evaporated milk for a bit of sweetness? Tell them that you’d have the KOPI. They term it as KOPI O for those who just want plain coffee, or what we call as black coffee. KOPI C has only coffee and evaporated milk.

They also have teh (tea) for you tea-lovers! TEH in the menu is tea with condensed milk if you want sweet tea. TEH O is just plain tea while TEH C is tea with evaporated milk for a milktea taste. They also have YUAN YANG, which has both coffee and tea sweetened with sugar and evaporated milk, which sounds yummy!

Peanut Butter Thick Toast

In Singapore, kopi is not complete without kaya toast. That’s why most of the time they are both served in sets. Nanyang delivers this experience by providing not only a wide choice for kopi but also with their kaya toasts! This Peanut Butter Toast is only one of the many selections, but I know that no one would disagree how yummy this looks with the soft, thick toast and the creamy peanut butter on top. As this is a favorite combination in toast, there’s no denying that Nanyang’s toast would satisfy your craving!

Laksa is the talk of the town

Ahhh of course the famous Laksa would never go out of the scene when it comes to Singaporean cuisine. The diners’ favorite for their meal is the Laksa Prawn which is a bowl of thick wheat noodles served in a thick, rich coconut soup base and topped with seafood (prawn or fish ball), egg, and tofu. Diving in this bowl of richness, you will be met with a kick of spiciness along with the taste and aroma of a variety of spices. This dish is truly an experience of flavors!

New Cheesy Chicken Chop Noodle

This one is a new addition to the menu. Word has it that it is difficult to try this dish since apparently it is so good that it always gets sold out with just a snap. You get served chicken with noodles with the chicken cutlet drizzled with cheese. The dry noodles have a savory and sweet flavor which is balanced out by the chicken’s cheesy topping. A must-try dish and a very filling one too!

Cool down other than kopi

not too overloaded, and you might be reminded of traditional milk teas. If you are a chocolate lover, the Milo Dinosaur would be your soulmate on the menu. This cup of iced Milo with a mountain of Milo topping may look sinful but is worth trying. You can try the other drinks on the menu such as the Horlicks, Honey Lemon, Homemade Barley, Sparkling Soda.
