G-SHOCK has once again merged tradition with innovation as it unveils two striking additions to its high-end MR-G lineup: the MRGB2000BG-3A and MRGB2000RG-3A. These new models are deeply inspired by kurogane-iro—a deep, bluish-green hue that recalls the heated iron armor worn by samurai warriors. The bold aesthetic and robust construction reflect G-SHOCK’s continued pursuit of toughness, style, and cultural storytelling.
The “Kurogane-Iro” editions are distinguished by their deep-layer hardened titanium construction paired with a green diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating, delivering a lustrous and ultra-durable finish. Every detail is a homage to Japanese craftsmanship: from sword-inspired indexes and fan-like dial contours to the recrystallized titanium bezel of the MRGB2000RG-3A, which emulates the sparkling patterns seen on traditional sword blades.
Nano-processing technology, Sallaz polishing, and a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating elevate the timepieces’ elegance while ensuring toughness and visibility in all conditions.
Beyond aesthetics, these MR-G models pack serious performance. Each watch features:
- Bluetooth® smartphone link
- Radio-controlled timekeeping
- Tough Solar charging system
- 200-meter water resistance
- Gold-plated retainer plate for enhanced electrical conductivity and stability
Design-wise, the MRGB2000BG-3A sports a full DLC-coated titanium band for a unified look, while the MRGB2000RG-3A takes a more dynamic approach with a fluoro-rubber strap embossed in a tortoiseshell pattern—a traditional symbol of protection and endurance.
Both models are now available for purchase through G-SHOCK’s official channels at a premium price point of $3,300 USD, reflecting the meticulous craftsmanship and technological innovation behind each timepiece.
