The GUESS Originals paired up with international music superstar J Balvin once again as together they launched the new “Amor” collection for Summer 2022 in hopes to advocate the spread of love and peace through different pieces of apparels.
A mere glance at the collection does induce cheery and pleasant vibes to anyone who sees with its vibrant colors and trippy patterns which is exactly what Balvin aimed for.
The call for love and peace theme is just on a surface level in this project, however. The collaboration digs deeper than the vibrancy of colors and the easiness feeling it intends to bring as the superstar turns to his inspired documentary, The Boy from Medellin, as the spotlight of the roots of the Amor collection. The documentary and the clothing project were united in hope to shed light on the significance of mental health and having an open narrative about it.

Reuniting with GUESS Originals
This is not the first time Balvin has teamed up with GUESS to create something beautiful together, and with his remark about their past collaborations, it looks like this certainly won’t be their last as well. “We’ve been collaborating for a couple of years now,” says J Balvin. “The chemistry is great. Now, with the new “Amor” collection dropped which was inspired with the mentioned documentary, GUESS still instills it trademark style in its pieces but with a twist as iconic graphics are added and upped fabrics are used to emphasize the persona of Balvin even before fame and his journey with mental health.
