Samsung is taking a major step forward in personal wellness technology with the upcoming One UI 8 Watch, packed with new features designed to help users build healthier lifestyles in sustainable, realistic ways.

From sleep optimization to heart health and fitness performance, this update transforms the Galaxy Watch into an even more intelligent wellness companion. With the understanding that small daily changes lead to long-term health improvements, Samsung’s latest suite of features supports users across multiple aspects of well-being: Sleep, Vascular Health, Fitness, and Nutrition.

Bedtime Guidance: Better Sleep Starts Here

Recognizing sleep as the foundation of well-being, Samsung introduces Bedtime Guidance — a feature that recommends optimal bedtimes based on sleep pressure and circadian rhythm. By analyzing sleep data from the past three days, it suggests routines to improve next-day alertness and overall recovery.

This enhancement complements existing tools such as sleep coaching, sleep environment optimization, and even sleep apnea detection, helping users build consistent, restful sleep patterns.

Vascular Load: Deeper Insights into Heart Health

A truly unique addition is Vascular Load — a feature that assesses the amount of stress on the vascular system during sleep. Since a healthy body should experience lower stress levels while resting, fluctuations here can serve as early indicators of cardiovascular issues.

With daily reports and actionable insights, users can make lifestyle adjustments across sleep, exercise, and stress to ease strain on the heart and circulatory system.

Running Coach: Your Personalized Fitness Partner

Whether you’re aiming for your first 5K or training for a marathon, the new Running Coach offers a personalized approach. After a simple 12-minute run, the Galaxy Watch analyzes your fitness level and generates a tailored training plan based on your score.

With built-in guidance and injury prevention strategies, runners can train smarter and more safely — all while tracking progress and unlocking new milestones.

Antioxidant Index: Aging Well, One Carrot at a Time

Samsung debuts another industry-first with the Antioxidant Index, measuring carotenoid levels in the skin using its advanced BioActive Sensor. This five-second test gives users real-time feedback on their nutrition and lifestyle, providing tangible evidence of positive choices like eating more fruits and vegetables.

With insights that react to dietary changes, this feature is a motivating tool in the fight against oxidative stress and premature aging.

Why This Matters

Forming good habits takes time — and results aren’t always immediate. But Samsung’s holistic, data-driven approach empowers users to stay motivated and proactive. As Dr. Hon Pak, SVP and Head of Samsung’s Digital Health Team, says:

“We envision the Galaxy Watch delivering holistic insights centered around sleep — insights that lead to meaningful changes in daily life… empowering people to lead healthier lives through proactive care.”

Currently available to a limited number of users via beta, the One UI 8 Watch update will roll out to the latest Galaxy Watch series, pushing the boundaries of what wearables can do for your health.

Small changes, big results — with One UI 8 Watch, better health is just a glance at your wrist away.
