A Gateway to Hokkaido’s Winter Wonders
This seasonal route gives Filipino travelers direct access to Sapporo, Hokkaido’s capital city famed for its world-class ski resorts, culinary delights, and the Sapporo Snow Festival, one of Japan’s most celebrated winter events showcasing massive ice sculptures and cultural performances. Whether you’re chasing snowy landscapes or hearty bowls of miso ramen, Sapporo offers an unforgettable cold-weather escape.
For Japanese travelers, the route provides a welcoming opportunity to discover the Philippines’ warm hospitality, pristine beaches, and vibrant cultural offerings—all just a few hours away.
Strengthening Cultural and Economic Ties
“We are thrilled to announce the reopening of our direct flights from Manila to Sapporo, which will help us strengthen both bilateral relations and cultural ties with our Japanese counterparts,” said PAL President Richard Nuttall. “This route not only provides a convenient travel option for Filipino tourists and overseas workers, but also opens doors for Japanese travelers to explore and experience the Philippines.”
PAL Expands Its Reach in Japan
This revival reinforces PAL’s position as the airline with the largest network between the Philippines and Japan, offering direct services to Tokyo Haneda, Tokyo Narita, Osaka Kansai, Nagoya, and Fukuoka, plus Cebu routes to Osaka Kansai and Tokyo Narita.
The Manila-Sapporo route previously operated from December 2018 to March 2020 and is now set to become a regular seasonal service every winter, adding more travel options for both leisure and business travelers.
