Security Bank is putting its people at the heart of its story with the launch of its #YouMatter video series—an inspiring initiative that brings to light real stories of employees who have grown, thrived, and found purpose within the Bank. Through personal testimonies and authentic experiences, the series highlights the workplace culture that fuels the Bank’s commitment to BetterBanking.

“At SBC, we make sure every employee feels seen, heard, and supported—that’s the core of #YouMatter,” shares Nerissa Berba, Security Bank’s Chief People Officer. This people-first philosophy is not just a slogan, but a lived experience across all levels of the organization.

Empowered from Day One

Whether it’s a fresh graduate landing their first job or a career shifter discovering new possibilities, Security Bank empowers individuals to grow from the very beginning. Jaezelle Romero, now a customer service officer, found her very first job at Security Bank. “They saw something in me others didn’t. A decade later, I’m still here,” she reflects.

Similarly, process manager JP De Guzman, who transitioned from a different field, shared, “They gave me the tools, training, and trust to grow. I’ve achieved more than I ever expected.”

Recognition That Drives Growth

At Security Bank, recognition goes beyond appreciation—it becomes a stepping stone to bigger opportunities. Cesar Bersamina, business manager of the Eastwood branch, credits the Bank’s consistent recognition for his career advancement. “With every milestone, the Bank rewarded my efforts—with promotions, benefits, and even international exposure.”

Support When It Matters Most

The Bank’s culture of care shines brightest during life’s toughest moments. Cherry Sabado, head of training and engagement for retail credit operations, recalls the aftermath of a devastating house fire. “They didn’t just say they cared—they proved it. That kind of support stays with you.”

Flexibility Rooted in Life’s Realities

Understanding that flexibility is more than a work perk, HR business partner Frances Trinidad is grateful for the Bank’s hybrid setup that allowed her to spend time with her aging dog, Hagrid. “It’s not just about work-life balance—it’s about the moments and memories we get to keep.”

Purpose Beyond the Workplace

For many, working at Security Bank means contributing to something bigger. Shaina Bucton, operations specialist, shares how the Learn for a Cause program enriched her both personally and socially. “Every session I joined didn’t just benefit me—it helped support meaningful causes and communities.”

Through this initiative, in partnership with LinkedIn Learning, every hour spent learning helps fund a child’s education via the Security Bank Foundation. Personal growth, in this case, becomes a catalyst for long-term impact.

#YouMatter: A Cultural Commitment

The #YouMatter campaign is more than just a video series—it reflects Security Bank’s strategic vision to nurture a workplace where employees feel valued, empowered, and inspired. It’s a reaffirmation of the Bank’s enduring belief that its people are its greatest asset.
