The country’s largest private employer Concentrix successfully hosted a company-exclusive charity game with 12 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Legends in an epic battle with staff, the Concentrix All-Stars, in the Mall of Asia Arena.

The charity game called “Concentrix Cares: Hoop for A Cause” raised Over Php 2 Million in ticket sales from thousands of the company’s staff who also brought friends and family to the event. The entire proceeds were added to the Concentrix Cares Staff Pledge Donation Program, a ready fund raised by staff for fellow team member beneficiaries in need of additional financial support for medical, educational, and emergency reasons – all of which are on top of and supplemental to, company-provided funding and benefits.

Twelve PBA Legends who participated in the exhibition game to represent the PBA Foundation included cross-generation beloved basketball stars Allan Caidic, Jerry Codinera, Noli Locsin, Jonny Abarrientos, Marlou Aquino, Bal David, Gerry Esplana, Willie Miller, Rodney Santos, JayJay Helterbrand, Rico Maierhofer and Mark Pingris. The PBA Legends took down the Concentrix All-Stars basketball team in a 17-point lead, ending the game at 100 points versus the latter’s 83.

Amit Jagga, SVP and Country Leader of Concentrix Philippines stated, “I am humbled and proud to lead a team who gives their time, talent and resources in the service of their fellow teammates in need. The Concentrix Cares Staff Pledge Program is not just in true ‘Bayanihan’ spirit for which Filipinos are known, it also visibly demonstrates our company Culture statement ‘We all contribute and are ONE Concentrix’. Since 2021, the pledge program has generated millions of pesos in staff voluntary salary donations, and expediently helped hundreds of staff in their crucial times of need. With Hoop for A Cause, we wanted to give back and show appreciation to our staff who donate in the Pledge Program so that they can also enjoy a memorable time with their loved ones in an exclusive basketball show, which is one of the top sports in the country. I also wish to thank our Concentrix People Solutions team for organizing this event, our staff donors and All-Stars team, and of course the PBA Legends Foundation and its players for being so generous in making this event possible. They all showed that being legendary does not stop with the professional work, but rather what they do outside the game to help their communities that makes them truly legendary.”

Apart from the game champions awarding to the PBA Legends and Marlou Aquino as Most Valuable Player, the Concentrix Cares Hoop for a Cause event also included a launch of the BPO Women’s Volleyball Tournament in which Concentrix is one of the participating companies, an International Women’s Month plug and freebie giveaways joined in by Miss World Philippines 2022 Gwendolyne Fourniol, and a meet-and-greet between Concentrix staff and the PBA Legends. The event was also livestreamed on Concentrix PH Facebook page and watched by 17,000 viewers so far. Watch it here: https://fb.watch/jeBpG025am/?mibextid=xn5Upu
