Unboxing the realme 9 PRO 5G
When you receive the device, it is packaged in realme’s trademark yellow box. The realme 9 PRO unit, a transparent jelly case with a hint of black, paperwork, the 33W Dart Fast Charging wall charger, USB-C cord, and the SIM eject tool are all included once the box is opened.
Right of the bat, you’ll find the volume rockers or buttons on the left side, and on the right, you’ll find the power button, which also serves as a fingerprint scanner for unlocking your phone. It has a mic hole on top and nothing else. The USB-C charging port, 3.5mm headphone jack, another mic, and the speaker grille are all located on the bottom.
The box does not, however, include a set of earphones. In comparison to other brands, realme continues to include chargers with their releases.
First Impressions
The Build of the Phone
The device is said to feel “solid” and “more premium for the price” once you get your hands on it. The phone’s dimensions are 164.3 x 75.6 x 8.5 mm, which isn’t too large for most people. The phone is relatively light at 195 grams due to the design. It has a “glasstic” back that feels like glass but is actually made of plastic, a glass front, and a plastic frame that serves as the device’s body.
Design
When you move the “glasstic” around, it’s supposed to have “holographic” streaks that look like sort of outer-space graphics. For a better grip, the back panel is curved to the side. It’s not particularly slippery, and it’s prone to fingerprint smudges.
What disappoints is that it lacks any kind of screen glass protection, and even a rubber gasket for the SIM card tray is lacking from the product.
Although realme could have done a better job with the materials used, the build quality is suitable for a mid-range phone.
Screen Features
When you powered the phone on, you’ll be greeted with a
- 2400 x 1080 FHD+ resolution,
- a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate with 6-levels available,
- a 240Hz touch sampling rate,
- and 405 ppi pixel density on the 6.6-inch IPS screen.
This makes an ultra-smooth experience when you’ve scrolled and played with the phone’s screen. Every swipe and scroll feels more instant and responsive thanks to its adaptive technology.
It has a punch-hole on the far left side to house the built-in selfie camera. To give the device more screen real estate, realme designed it this way, resulting in a 90.8 percent screen-to-body ratio for a more immersive viewing experience. Only the chin bezel is a little on the thick side.
The realme 9 PRO has a 5000mAh battery and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor with 8GB of RAM and 5GB of Dynamic RAM, as well as 128GB of internal storage. The realme 9 PRO is a 5G capable smartphone, and with this chipset, it delivers ultra-fast all-around performance.
Screen Display
Because of how the colors reflect vibrantly to the eye, it is said to be usable even in direct sunlight. The contrast is also very good, where it suggests your eyes should not hurt.
Camera
The realme 9 PRO has a triple-camera setup, with a 64MP Nightscape camera on the back, an 8MP ultrawide sensor on the front, and a 2MP for macro shots. It has a 16MP module for selfies.
The realme 9 PRO takes pride in its clever long exposure Street Photography Mode 2.0, which produces truly stunning images.
