In an effort to support Filipino test takers preparing for the IELTS test, the British Council has launched a new service called ‘IELTS Ready: Premium.’ This innovative platform aims to provide personalized resources to British Council IELTS test takers based on their individual progress, offering greater opportunities for improvement across different sections of the test.
IELTS Ready: Premium offers a comprehensive set of features, including 40 IELTS mock tests, recorded classes, and support from IELTS experts. By accessing practice tests in both timed and untimed formats, test takers can perfect their preparation. Moreover, the platform analyzes all answers, enabling test takers to focus on the most beneficial exercises for their practice.
Some of the key features of IELTS Ready: Premium include:
- Writing Practice with Model Answers: Test takers can learn what examiners look for to achieve the required scores through writing practice with model answers.
- Expert Feedback: IELTS experts provide valuable feedback on every reading and listening question, helping test takers pinpoint areas for improvement.
- Tailored Support: Personalized assistance is provided to target specific areas where test takers need to enhance their skills.
- Familiarisation Videos: The platform offers familiarisation videos to help test takers prepare for their IELTS test effectively.
The British Council has partnered with Guided e-Learning (GEL), a London-based leading provider of digital learning in English Language Teaching, to power the IELTS Ready: Premium platform.
A noteworthy advantage for test takers is that they receive unlimited free access to IELTS Ready: Premium from the time of their registration for IELTS with the British Council until they take the test.
During a successful pilot period, the platform received high praise from users, with 97% stating that it helped them achieve their desired scores and an impressive 98% indicating they would recommend the service to others.
Andrew Mackenzie, the Director of IELTS at the British Council, expressed enthusiasm about the initiative, stating, “We want to give our IELTS test takers every tool we can to achieve their ambitions of living, working, or studying overseas. We are therefore excited to launch IELTS Ready: Premium, to help them feel fully prepared and have the best chance to fulfill those dreams.”
Samantha Smith, the British Council’s Regional Exams Manager, Southeast Asia, emphasized the organization’s commitment to supporting candidates in achieving their best. With a focus on making IELTS more accessible to more Filipinos, the British Council plans to open more test centers and provide IELTS Ready: Premium, aiming to give Filipino test takers an additional boost in their preparation process to achieve great results and make their dreams come true.
