Samsung launches another promising line for their flagship Z series. We all know how Samsung makes every cent you spend on your smartphone count because this device may have every features you want in a premium, durable, and 5G enabled smartphone. With this new Galaxy Z Fold3, Samsung brings back nostalgic memories with a modern twist. The question is do you need an upgrade from the previous Galaxy Z Fold2? Let’s find out. No need for more introductions as the device’s features will say it all.

Below are the best features of the Galaxy Z Fold3 that will make you think of buying it.

Matte Design & Smooth Performance

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is a premium 6.2-inch device with various color availability which are: Phantom Black, Phantom Green, and Phantom Silver. Following its successor, Samsung have made the outer shell of the device matte for a cleaner and fingerprint-free look but still having that sleek and premium design.

Located at the right side of the device is a a fingerprint scanner that is embedded on its power button and the volume racker which is ergonomically place on where you usually grab the device. The overall size of the phone while folded is upto 16mm in thickness.

Upgrading from its successor the Z Fold 3 uses the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 chipset as its processor with a variant that runs on 12GB of RAM or with 256GB RAM + 512 GB storage.

Samsung really wanted to make this flagship phone suitable for multitaskers because the device operates with the One UI 3.5 software (based on Android 11) that can make 3 apps run smoothly at once.

Vivid Display

With a 120hz refresh rate on both external and internal displays the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 is a much-improved version of the OG Fold launched last 2019. The external panel has been upgraded up to 6.2-inches with an 832×2268 resolution, which makes the aspect ratio to 25:9 and still is a Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel. So, even when browsing through the external panel the device still works smoothly. Speaking of major tweaks, the 7.6-inch flexible and foldable main display already have a resolution of 1768×2208 plus a dynamic AMOLED panel that has a HDR10+ capability, which makes streaming movies and watching YouTube videos a more immersive experience.

Under Display Camera

Let’s move on my favorite feature which is the full uninterrupted screen thanks to the under-display camera technology, meaning there is no drop notch or punch hole on the main display. It isn’t fully unnoticeable though, but with darker background you can almost see no difference.

For the cameras, this device holds a total of five. Starting with triple cameras at the rear, which consists of a f/1.8 aperture main camera, f/2.2 aperture ultra-wide camera, and a f/2.4 aperture telephoto camera that is capable of 2x optical zoom, and all of which are 12MP. On the front, the device has a main selfie camera located at the external panel which has f/2.2 aperture 10MP snapper, and the under-display camera which is a 4-megapixel unit.

The cameras are pretty much the same with the previous generation, but they still snap crisp, clear, detailed, and good quality photos thanks to the camera sensors.

Lightweight and Durable

The most important upgrade from the previous generation, making the Z Fold3 with durable and lightweight materials. Weighing only 271 grams, the device is much lighter than most smartphones which is unexpected because the Galaxy Z Fold3 has more screen real estate and is a foldable device. No need to worry when accidentally dropping your smartphone because Samsung made the aluminum chassis with “Armor Aluminum”, PLUS the outer display is created with Gorilla Glass Victus and the internal display is a tougher, stretchable PET5 material which can handle more unfolding cycles, besides it can survive drops up to 2M and 4x better scratch resistance than its successors

Waterproof

The Galaxy Z Fold3 is the very first smartphone device with folding mechanism that has a waterproof rating. What’s amazing is that it is an IPX8 rating which we all thought impossible because of the moving parts and hinges due to the folding mechanism of the device. So calling all the workout lovers out there, no need to be concern when using the Z Fold 3 while sweating or when you’re caught in the rain.

S Pen Compatible & Convenient Device

Did I tell you that the Z Fold3 is now compatible with the S-pen? Yes, the artist in you can showcase your creative ideas to your friends and thanks to the new Flex mode technology, multitasking with S-pen is more convenient and hands-free. Delivering a PC-like productivity, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 helps give you that extra space to open your favorite apps and save 5 more apps via the pop-up on the Edge panel.

Conclusion

For the tech lovers with money to spare, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 has everything you want on a foldable smartphone. Even for media consumption, gaming, and productivity use, it will make the most out of the foldable devices ever made.

The Galaxy Z Fold3 is available on its e-commerce site with an official SRP of Php 87.990.00 for the 256 GB variant and Php 95,990.00 for the 512 GB variant.
