A total of 107 farmers from batches 398, 399, 400, and 401 have successfully completed the 14-week training under SM Foundation Inc.’s Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan (KSK) Sustainable Agriculture Program. The graduation ceremony took place on July 4, 2025, at SM City Bataan.

During the event, the graduates showcased their inspiring testimonials and presented business proposals—some of which aim to supply their fresh produce directly to SM’s Sunday Market, local wet markets, malls, and supermarkets.

As part of the graduation activities, the newly trained farmers were given a guided tour of SM Supermarket, where they gained practical knowledge about retail operations, including product quality standards, packaging practices, and supply chain management. This hands-on exposure provided them with valuable insights on how to align their produce with market demands, reinforcing SM Foundation’s mission to empower farmers by connecting them to viable economic opportunities.

The success of the program was made possible not only through the efforts of SM Foundation but also with the strong support of various government agencies. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) extended assistance through its Sustainable Livelihood Program, while the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) provided training and certifications, enabling farmers to acquire their National Certificate II (NC II). Other agencies such as the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), LGUs of Orion and Pilar also contributed various forms of support, including technical and logistical assistance, product development guidance, and livelihood opportunities.

SM Foundation’s Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan continues to make a lasting impact nationwide by equipping farmers with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in today’s competitive agricultural sector. With every graduating batch, the program strengthens its commitment to promoting food security, inclusive growth, and sustainable rural development.
