SM continues to lead by example when it comes to community resilience and disaster preparedness.

On June 19, both SM City Olongapo Central and SM City Olongapo Downtown took part in the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED), demonstrating once again their strong commitment to safety and readiness in the face of natural disasters.

In partnership with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), and barangay officials, the drill aimed to enhance public awareness and response capabilities during seismic events.
Mall tenants, agency personnel, affiliates, and employees actively participated in the simulation, following established evacuation routes and emergency protocols to ensure a swift and organized response. The synchronized drill emphasized the importance of coordination and timely action during emergencies.
As a consistent supporter of the government’s disaster risk reduction initiatives, SM Supermalls continues to prioritize the well-being of its shoppers, workers, and communities. Through regular participation in the NSED, SM reinforces its dedication to building a culture of preparedness—ensuring that everyone is equipped with the knowledge and skills to respond effectively when every second counts.
This initiative is just one of many efforts by SM to promote resilience and public safety across the country.
