SM Foundation Inc. has expanded its relief operations in Central Luzon after heavy rains and flooding brought by Typhoons Crising, Dante, Emong, and the southwest monsoon displaced thousands.
Working with SM Supermalls and SM Markets, SM Foundation activated its Operation Tulong Express (OPTE) and distributed 3,019 Kalinga Packs filled with food and basic needs. Relief was focused on hard-hit provinces under a state of calamity, including Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Olongapo, and Bataan.
In Bulacan:
- SM City Marilao reached 1,500 families in flood-prone barangays
- SM City Baliwag and SM Center Pulilan served 400 households in Tibag, Poblacion, and Tabon
In Pampanga:
- SM City Clark delivered aid to 130 farmers in Dampe and Maligaya
- Another 100 families in Mabalacat also received help
- SM City Pampanga, Telabastagan, San Fernando Downtown, and Savemore Apalit jointly distributed 410 packs across Macabebe, Dela Paz Norte, and Apalit
In Tarlac and Olongapo:
- SM City Tarlac gave 104 packs in Barangay San Manuel
- SM City Olongapo Central and Downtown delivered 275 packs across four barangays
- SM City Bataan distributed 100 packs in Sibacan, Tortugas, and Puerto Rivas
To date, more than 18,800 Kalinga Packs have been distributed nationwide, including in Metro Manila, Rizal, Pangasinan, Cavite, La Union, Laguna, and Cebu.
