The McDonald’s Night Classroom: An Adaptation for After-School Learning
Building on the success of the McDonald’s Classroom initiative launched in 2020, the McDonald’s Night Classroom project caters to students who require a secure and conducive environment to complete homework, study, and conduct research online after school hours. In this program, approximately 250 unused party rooms in McDonald’s stores were repurposed as virtual classrooms for professors and students to fulfill their online learning requirements.
A Convenient Online Learning Environment
To support the project, Smart has installed Smart WiFi in McDonald’s stores and distributed Smart Bro Pocket WiFi units at additional participating sites. This provision of free WiFi empowers Night Classroom participants to connect online and take full advantage of Smart’s acclaimed mobile network, recognized by Ookla as the fastest and best in the Philippines for mobile and network broadband.
Participants in the McDonald’s Night Classroom can enjoy a seamless online learning experience, with easy internet access, rapid file uploads and downloads, instant web searches, and buffer-free streaming of educational videos—thanks to Smart’s assistance.
