SM Foundation, the social good arm of the SM Group, recently welcomed 900 new college students to its scholarship program.
In Bataan, scholars received their awards during a special ceremony at SM Store Bataan. Family members and peers joined the event to celebrate this milestone for the youth of the province.
The SM Foundation college scholarship covers full tuition, monthly allowances, and access to activities that prepare students for their careers. These include student assemblies, part-time jobs during school breaks, on-the-job training, and possible employment with the SM Group after graduation.
SM Foundation Executive Director for Education Programs Carmen Linda Atayde told the scholars that the program is not only support, but also recognition of their efforts and commitment.
The SM Foundation college scholarship, started in 1993 by SM Group Founder Henry Sy Sr., has helped more than 6,000 students nationwide. It continues to open doors for young Filipinos to achieve education, professional growth, and opportunities to uplift their families and communities.
