“Born to Be Wild” returns this July with a bold new format, blending field exploration and innovative technology to deliver immersive, educational storytelling. Now in its 17th year, GMA’s iconic wildlife and environmental program levels up with the integration of AI—offering audiences a chance to “see” creatures long extinct or incredibly elusive.

Launching its month-long expedition across the misty mountains of Benguet and the untamed islands of southern Palawan, the show continues its legacy of showcasing the Philippines’ rich biodiversity—while sounding the alarm for its preservation.

This Sunday (July 6), Doc Ferds Recio dives deep into Benguet’s fragile ecosystem, encountering native silkworms and bees whose lives are increasingly endangered by industrial agriculture and ecological degradation.

Meanwhile, in Palawan, Doc Nielsen Donato captures rare and dramatic moments in the wild: a massive saltwater crocodile named “Itim” lurking in its natural habitat, a Palawan peacock-pheasant tenderly guarding her chick, and a wild baboy ramo (boar) inching closer to human communities.

As the season unfolds, “Born to Be Wild” will also unveil AI-generated reconstructions of extinct and rarely documented species—an exciting new chapter in how audiences can connect with nature. These lifelike visualizations aim to raise awareness and evoke a deeper sense of responsibility for protecting the country’s hidden fauna.

Don’t miss “Born to Be Wild” every Sunday at 9:00 AM on GMA—a breathtaking blend of adventure, science, and environmental storytelling.
