Spotify, the world’s leading music streaming platform, is generating buzz with rumors of a new premium subscription tier called “Supremium.” Priced at $19.99 USD a month, this tier is expected to bring a host of exciting features to enhance the listening experience for its subscribers.

Unveiling Supremium: What We Know So Far

The news of Spotify’s Supremium tier surfaced when tech enthusiast Chris Messina delved into the app’s code and uncovered details about this upcoming offering. Among the noteworthy features expected in Supremium is the inclusion of 24-bit lossless audio, a significant leap in audio quality that promises to deliver music in its purest form.

In addition to enhanced audio quality, Supremium is rumored to offer AI playlist generation tools. These tools will use advanced algorithms to curate playlists tailored to individual user preferences. The playlists will take into account various factors, including BPM (beats per minute), vibe, mood, activity, and genre, ensuring a personalized and enjoyable listening experience.

Furthermore, Supremium is said to provide advanced playlist mixing tools, allowing users to create seamless transitions between songs based on various criteria. Whether you’re hosting a party or looking for the perfect workout playlist, these tools are designed to enhance the user’s control over their music.

Fans of music statistics will also have something to look forward to, as Supremium is rumored to provide listening statistics akin to those offered by Last.fm. This feature will enable users to track their listening habits, discover new artists, and gain insights into their musical preferences.

One intriguing addition to Supremium is the provision of 20 to 30 hours of audiobook listening. While Spotify has primarily focused on music and podcasts, this new feature could open up a world of literary exploration for subscribers.

Corroboration and Spotify’s Response

These rumors gain further credence from a Reddit user named Hypixely, who initially broke the news about Supremium’s pricing and shared similar features to those unearthed by Chris Messina. Additionally, within the app code, there is mention of a tool called “Soundcheck” that offers detailed insights into a subscriber’s listening habits, adding to the intrigue surrounding Supremium.

However, Spotify has remained tight-lipped about these reports. When questioned about the rumored Supremium tier, a Spotify representative told TechCrunch, “At Spotify, we are constantly iterating and ideating to improve our product offering and offer value to users. But we don’t comment on speculation around possible new features and do not have anything new to share at this time.”

The Anticipation Builds

As Spotify continues to dominate the music streaming industry, the anticipation for the Supremium tier grows. If these rumors prove accurate, Supremium could elevate the streaming experience for users, offering high-quality audio, personalized playlists, and valuable insights into their music consumption habits.

Music enthusiasts and audiophiles alike will undoubtedly be keeping a close eye on Spotify’s developments, eagerly awaiting more information on the anticipated Supremium tier. Until then, the world of music streaming remains abuzz with excitement, poised for a potential upgrade in the listening experience. Stay tuned for updates on Spotify’s Supremium tier.
