Metro Manila just got a little greener. Electric vehicle (EV) company Green GSM has officially launched operations in the Philippines, marking the arrival of the country’s first all-electric taxi fleet. The move signals a significant step toward more sustainable urban transportation.
In a recent social media post, Green GSM shared, “The first all-electric taxi fleet in the PH is ready to give you a mas presko, mas tipid, at mas eco-friendly na biyahe!” – highlighting its commitment to cooler, cheaper, and more environmentally friendly rides.
The Green GSM fleet runs on VinFast EVs, a line of electric cars developed by Vietnamese automaker VinFast, known for its cutting-edge innovations in sustainable mobility, including electric cars and scooters.
A New Player in the Urban Ride Scene
Green GSM’s arrival positions it as a fresh alternative to existing transport options, such as Grab and Joyride. Its fully electric fleet offers commuters an eco-conscious choice for getting around Metro Manila while reducing both fuel costs and carbon emissions.
While details on fare rates and fleet size have yet to be revealed, the Green GSM app is already live and can be downloaded from both Apple App Store and Google Play. As of now, the service is limited to Metro Manila, with no confirmed announcements on its expansion to other regions.
Driving Toward a Sustainable Future
The launch comes on the heels of similar green transport initiatives, including GrabTaxi Electric, suggesting a growing appetite for clean transport solutions in the country. With more players like Green GSM entering the space, the competition is expected to push the industry toward more affordable and sustainable innovations.
As the Philippines continues its gradual shift toward greener alternatives, commuters can now make a difference—one electric ride at a time.
