Open a Savings Account with just one Valid ID

With the rise of home-based jobs and online payroll transactions, no one can deny that it is essential to open a savings account to ensure your current and future financial security. But it’s also no secret that opening a savings account can be much more difficult in these difficult times, with so much paperwork and long lines! And not to mention the ironic demand for customers to have more than one (1) valid ID.

Lucky for us, there are several banks here in the Philippines that only require one (1) valid id to open a savings account! And what’s more convenient for this is that some also offer customers to process their accounts online, so you don’t have to worry about the long queues and carry over-the-top number of requirements.

Check out these banks with a one (1) valid ID requirement for a Savings Account:

Open a Savings Account  – Security Bank

Security Bank offers several kinds of Savings account. One of them is their Easy Savings Account which is their basic savings account that provides a simple and convenient way to bank. They also have NO interbranch fees!

All you have to do is:

  1. Complete the account opening online form
  2. Wait for the confirmation for online video call appointment (Account Opening via Video Call is currently available during weekdays (excluding holidays) from 9:00am to 4:00pm)
  3. Accomplish online video call to finalize application.

Security Bank’s acceptable IDs:

For Resident Citizen, Non-resident Citizen, and Resident Alien

  • 1 primary valid ID or 2 secondary valid IDs

List of Primary IDs for opening a savings account at Security Bank:

  • Passport
  • Driver’s License
  • PRC ID
  • Digitized Voter’s ID
  • GSIS e-Card
  • SSS Card
  • Senior Citizen Card
  • Unified Multi-purpose ID
  • ACR / ICR
  • Integrated Bar of the Philippines
  • School ID
  • NCDA ID
  • Postal ID (PVC Plastic Card)

Open a Savings Account – Union Bank

Union Bank offers their SavingsPlus Accounts online with NO medical examination required, NO monthly insurance premium payments, Convenient application process: no lengthy paper forms, Optional Visa Debit Card and hassle-free banking with UnionBank Online.

All you have to do is:

  1. Download UnionBank Online Mobile from the App Store or Play Store
  2. Click on Savings +
  3. Fill out your personal information and the Insular Life Health Declaration Form.

UnionBank’s acceptable Group A IDs:

  • Passport
  • Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) ID
  • NBI Clearance
  • GSIS e-card / GSIS ID (membership ID)
  • SSS ID/ Unified Multipurpose ID (UMID)
  • Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) ID
  • School ID
  • Driver’s License

*If you don’t have one of these, check their website for more acceptable IDs

Open a Savings Account – GSave

As long as you’re above 18 years old, a fully verified GCash user, and have one valid ID, you can easily put up a savings account via Gcash. Explore their GSave feature in which users can deposit and withdraw their savings easily! GCash has partnered with CIMB Bank to provide its users a maximum withdrawal amount per day of Php 50,000 and a maximum deposit amount in total of Php 100,000.

GCash’s GSave acceptable IDs:

  • Driver’s License
  • Passport
  • PRC ID (issued prior to September 2019)
  • UMID
  • Postal ID
  • Voter’s ID
  • SSS ID (with date of birth)
  • PhilSys ID
  • PhilHealth ID

Open a Savings Account – RCBC

RCBC also offers several kinds of Saving Accounts and what’s best with this is that they only require one valid photo-bearing government-issued identification card and proof of address to open an Individual Account with no maintaining balance as well!

All you have to do is:

  1. Visit RCBC’s Saving Accounts website
  2. Click “APPLY ONLINE”
  3. Then, fill up the series of forms online

RCBC’s list of acceptable IDs:

  • Passport
  • Seaman’s Book
  • Postal ID (issued 2016)
  • Driver’s License
  • National Bureau of Investigation clearance
  • SSS ID
  • UMID
  • Firearms License
  • PhilSys ID
  • PRC ID
  • IBP ID
  • Senior Citizen Card
  • National Council on Disabled Affairs (NCDA) ID
